I love the floorboards. ^^

Firstly, this isn't mine.

I doubt i'd ever be able to capture "emotion" like this in a photograph.

Yeah, I like it. I like how the damaged windows look out at the rest of the scenery. It's also like... perception in general, you know?

Good, I'm glad you like it.

Pripyat was the town created to house the workers who built/then maintained the Chornobyl Nuclear Plant.
Now it is estimated that ~60 people still reside there but a couple of days after the "accident" some 30,000 people were evacuated.
I'm trying at present to put together some music that echoes and evokes this image.
The "mix-tape" will eventually be dumped at another wasteground http://journeysthroughmusic.blogspot.com/

Stuart, check out the following links and the subsequent links within. I find this abandoned cities/buildings things really quite wonderful and intriguing. Spent months finding different places online that people had captured on camera. There is a few really creepy ones of an abandoned theme park (in Japan i think) and some of eastern european kid's swing parks that have been left to go wild... I particularly like the abandoned hospitals and asylums... think its probably the horrors that have been absorbed into the walls of these places... its almost like the walls and structures themselves still project them out for the viewer's eye.

That reminds me of fifth/sixth year art class! Our teacher used to have tons of animal skulls around the class room. Pretty macabre thinking back now.

Love the stencils. The thing to look out for it covering over other peoples' work. It can be dangerous...especially if you're covering up gang work. I studied graffiti for a while at a university and covering other people's work with question marks can be life threatening. Although I love the concept and execution, you need to be careful!

thanks a lot for the links... I've always found abandoned/decrepit public places tremendously evocative.. especially theme parks, or seaside towns.. something about a fibreglass model getting all peeled and faded...
